Taxonomy:
Once more we split both infragenerics, the purple florwering Lilium oxypetalum var. insigne and the yellow flowering Lilium oxypetalum var. oxypetalum (which can be held as the typus-form) in order to keep them plainly apart.
Origin:
North-Western Himalayas, Bashahr, Garwhal, Kumaon, western Nepal, altitude of 2.900 – 4.000 m
