Laboratory comment
Most species of Lilium carniolicum appear orange, some even yellow-orange, especially when found in lower altitudes, what sometimes disappoints when gardeners expect this lily to be red-coloured as this lily is mostly published in several books. Hence we tried to obtained bulbs of red-coloured flowers and obtained some from Ratko Radijevac (Croatia, mountainous area, alt. 900 m). By the way, grateful thanks, Ratko!
As we had difficulties with some fungus-germs at the tc of Ratko´s bulbs we gratefully received seeds of Ratko´s red-strain carniolica in early autumn 2022. Once more hearty thanks, Ratko!
